Gareth Davies

Managing Director

A Materials Scientist with over 30 years in the Engineering Coating Industry, Gareth Davies has recently been appointed Managing Director to oversee the continued development of Plasma & Thermal Coatings Ltd. Gareth has extensive experience in management, marketing and thermal spray technology, and an expert knowledge of the use of coatings applied in the Aero & Land Based Gas Turbine, Oil, Automotive and Steel industrial markets.

Sally Morgan

Director Finance, Administration, Human Resources

Controlling both Financial and Management accounts Sally also manages a team responsible for administration and the formation of client/company contracts and confidential agreements.

Alan Williams

Production Engineer

Alan joined us in 1996 and has since gained substantial experience in customer related applications and processing techniques . His current responsibilities involve direct engineering support to the production process, along with the care and development of our process hardware.

Andrew Truelove

Application Engineer

Responsible for the engineering of new applications including marketing, design and manufacturing, and robotics. Andrew is also responsible for production engineering In house and in-consultancy roles.

Brian Brennan

Application Engineer

Brian has a masters degree in Materials Process Engineering from the University of Sheffield and over twenty years experience in the thermal spray coatings industry. He manages a team of four engineers with overall responsibility for application and process development, plant engineering, equipment design and on-site spraying, with a commitment to providing our customers with the best engineered coatings.

Nathan Davies

Process Quality Engineer

Nathan was promoted in 2004 to ‘Supervisor – Laboratory Services’ and is responsible for the evaluation and qualification of coatings applied to customer components. He also has a significant involvement in quality control during all stages of processing.

Wendy Elias

Accounts Manager

Wendy is responsible for the day to day accounting functions within the company. She plays an important role in credit control & also maintains lines of credit with the company’s suppliers.

Chris Woodford

Sales Manager

Chris Woodford heads Sales & Marketing and is responsible for the development of new and existing markets in line with the company's business plan. Chris has over 20 years of both technical and commercial experience in the thermal spray industry under his belt, an expertise in the steel and aerospace industries and an intimate knowledge of a diverse range of industrial coating applications.

Matthew Wolfe

Productivity Technician

Since joining us in 1997 Matthew has worked his way up from coating technician and is now our ‘Productivity Technician’. Matt is responsible for ensuring our coating cells are fully utilised and for the coordination of our KANBAN system.

Darren Winnel

Production Manager

Since joining the company in 2000, Darren has gained valuable experience of the coatings industry, and the requirements of customers. Progressing from coatings technician, Darren is responsible for driving the production team and maintaining a right-first-time culture.

Greg Bell

Application Engineering Manager

Greg joined the company in April 04 with a degree in Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering fron the University of Glamorgan. He started his working life with a technical apprenticeship in the industrial valve sector and has 10 years engineering experience. Greg is responsible for engineering new and existing applications, and projects.

Phil Adams

Admin Services Manager

Phil, who has a BSc Honours in Business Information Technology from the University of Wales College, Newport and over 7 years experience in the manufacturing industry, joined us in November 2004. Phil is responsible for developing and supporting our recently installed ERP system and all network activities. He is also responsible for developing ways to incorporate new technology into Plasma and Thermal Coatings Ltd to benefit the company and their customers.

Gavin Thomas

Quality Manager

Dr.Rafal Tomaszek

Coatings / Materials Engineer 

Rafal was awarded Ph.D’s in the fields of Chemistry and Electronics from Universite de Science et Technologies de Lille (France) and Wroclaw University of Technology (Poland) where he was first involved with Coatings. He now has several years experience in thermal spray technology, its industrial application and is an author/co-author of a number scientific publications on the subject. Rafal is responsible for coating technology, development of new coating materials and processes as well as providing scientific and technical support to customers and internal staff.
